Neil physics polices Sketchers

Another way-back episode from 2010 "Science is Fierce" – on fashion! The guest disrespected Uhura but that's fine. Towards the end – in a classic Neil physics policing – he "debunks" Sketchers' claim that their Shape-Up shoes tone muscles better vs normal shoes.

He cites an American Council on Exercise study, that concluded: "Don’t buy these shoes because of the claims that you’re going to tone your butt more or burn more calories. That’s absolutely wrong”.

Looked into it a bit, and of course Sketchers "shot back" (at the study, not Neil), highlighting "two [studies] published in peer-reviewed journals" that prove the company's claim.

We should give those two studies a look!
